Aberdeen Drilling School’s role in the global oilfield is to ensure and manage the safety and competence of personnel working in safety critical roles within a high risk environment.  As such, we consider risk in our everyday operations and build and implement robust measures to minimise this risk.

We are committed to safely maintaining our training and competence management operations. In 2020, we launched online programmes and Virtual classroom options, and we continue to provide Technical Authoring and Consultancy services to our valued clients around the world.

In line with National Government guidelines and advice from the WHO, all of our training centres are operating under restrictions to ensure the safety of our staff and customers.

We will undertake all possible measures to maintain a healthy training environment for our delegates, following guidance from the WHO and National Governments in all of our global operations. For any in-person training taking place, we have implemented the following health and safety measures;

  1. Awareness & Prevention. We ask all visitors to our centres to only attend if they are free of COVID-19 symptoms (e.g. no fever, no new persistent cough, no change to sense of smell or taste), and we ask that they do not attend if they have been advised to self-isolate following close contact with a confirmed case.
  2. Smaller class sizes.  We have reduced the number of students permitted per classroom, spaced appropriately to maintain social distancing and minimise the potential for infection.
  3. Hygiene regime.  We have multiple cleaning runs each day, where all facilities are wiped and cleaned appropriately.  All shared facilities and high contact surfaces such as simulator touchscreens are cleaned after each operation.
  4. Delegate Hygiene. All delegates are instructed to self-assess before entering our facilities.  Hygiene sprays, disinfectants, and hand sanitizers are located throughout the facilities.
  5. Quarantine rooms.  In the unfortunate circumstance where a delegate falls ill, or shows symptoms of infection, we have established quarantine zones in each facility and staff members have been trained in the appropriate procedure to follow.

Please be assured that the safety of our customers and our staff is our upmost priority and we continue to closely follow national guidance.
