What to expect from the HPHT Drilling course
Aberdeen Drilling School's 3-Day HPHT Drilling is available as a company-specific course and can be tailored to include well-specific simulation exerices. It is also available as a public course in Aberdeen, UK and in Bandung, Indonesia. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for course availability.
The next public course is scheduled for 19-21 September, 2016 in Aberdeen.
We quizzed our in-house instructor and technical manager, Mark Gillard, on what to expect and here’s what he had to say –
- What will attendees gain from the course?
“The course will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the well design and operational requirements for HPHT wells.”
- Will there be time to discuss specific HPHT issues?
“Yes, absolutely! By discussing specific issues or case studies it allows the group to apply relevant theories to real-life situations which enhances the learning experience.
- Will there be any simulation included in the course?
“Yes, we will be using the full-size DrillSIM-5000 to allow participants to execute “real-world” exercises. This develops problem-solving skills, helping to reduce the risk of dangerous and expensive incidents occurring in the field.”
- Who is the course is designed for?
“The course is designed for drilling personnel, well planners, and senior drill crew. However it is important to mention that no prior HPHT experience is assumed”.
