The team at Aberdeen Drilling School was delighted to host a delegation of engineers from Daleel Petroleum (Oman) as they undertook a 4-week Advanced Well Engineering course at our centre in Aberdeen, UK. The training programme was customised to the client’s requirements and was designed to advance the engineers’ knowledge and further develop their skills in presenting a fully developed well programme.

The training programme was created to provide the participants with a challenging but engaging project which put their knowledge, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to the test. With interactive lectures, case studies, simulated drilling scenarios and facilitated group discussions, participants benefited from hands-on training and group learning.

Underpinning the entire course was the team-based well design project. The project work culminated in team presentations of an agreed well design on the final day of the course and a panel of experts provided feedback. The participants received high praise from the panel for their excellent work and Aberdeen Drilling School’s Managing Director, Jim Sutherland, thanked the group for the dedication and enthusiasm shown throughout the programme.
