About these courses

When it comes to stuck pipe prevention training, we’ve been at the forefront of reducing stuck pipe incidents since the 1980s, having worked in partnership with numerous IOCs and NOCs globally to reduce this, greatest cause of non-productive time.

Our Stuck Pipe Prevention training can be customised to the well or drilling campaign and to the target group. We can build a truly relevant and impactful course to be delivered either at your location, at one of our training centres equipped with a full-size drilling simulator, remotely via our virtual classroom, or onsite with a portable desktop simulator.

Who are these courses for?

These courses are not often open to the public. The courses are typically company-specific and as such can be designed to suit drilling personnel, well planners, and/or senior drill crew depending on the client’s training objectives. Our training will provide participants with the knowledge and understanding of the causes of stuck pipe and the means to reduce or eliminate stuck pipe as a significant cause of lost time incidents and related costs.

Prior well control training and certification is assumed, but prior knowledge of stuck pipe prevention is not mandatory. Candidate suitability and assumed base knowledge will be discussed and agreed with the client in the early stages of course development.

When and where are these courses delivered?

These courses are typically classroom and/or simulator-based, but the 2-day IADC accredited course and certain modules of our other stuck pipe prevention programmes are available as virtual instructor-led training. Stuck Pipe Prevention training is available on request for group bookings, to be delivered at a location selected by the client. We have successfully delivered Stuck Pipe Prevention training at our global centres on full-size drilling simulators, at clients’ offices, and on the rig.
