Overview

The aim of this Advanced Well Engineering course is to consolidate the course participant’s understanding of well engineering principles in the context of a well design and well plan document. Underpinning the course is the notion that preparing a well design is about “asking the right questions” of the well design team and of service providers

Designed For

This course is designed for early-career well engineers with prior knowledge of the basic principles of well engineering and with between 3 and 8 years of experience as a well engineer, or for those well engineers wishing to further develop their skills in presenting a fully developed well programme.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal pre-requisites for this type of training; however, candidate suitability and assumed base knowledge will be discussed and agreed with the client in the early stages of course development.

This 10-day course can be tailored to focus on specific areas of development need or the experience levels of the course participants. It is delivered through presentation of a series of interactive lectures, videos and animations, case studies, simulated drilling scenarios and facilitated study group discussions supported by technical reviews. Underpinning the course is a team-based well design project. The project will run throughout the course and culminate in team presentations of an agreed well design on the final day of the course.
